Summit Homeschool Academy is a K-9 homeschool enrichment program. Our vision is to encourage parents to be involved in their child’s education by giving them the resources to instill their own worldviews into their child’s minds, hearts and lives. The successful candidate will have a passion and commitment to support homeschool families in their education journey. They will be skilled in the classical instruction of All about Reading and All about Writing for English, facilitate wonder in Science using Mystery Science and be effective at teaching Singapore Math in a small group learning environment.
This position is eligible to teach students in grades Kindergarten - 3rd. (9 student max). The class meets 2 days/week for 30 weeks: K-3rd grade classes meet Monday/Wednesday from 8:30 – 2:30. Instruction is geared towards collaborative, project-based group work and the Teacher sets the learning pace for the year.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Contribute to the culture of the school: help students and families reach their “Summit” by being an effective “Trail Guide” in the homeschool learning journey.
· Teach weekly lessons in Math, English, Science, History or Spanish
· Design lessons in an exciting and interactive way that encourages group discussion
· Create, publish and/or modify the class syllabus to accommodate a 31-week school year
· Must have a demonstrated ability to differentiate lessons
· Have a commitment to reaching and supporting students of all learning levels
· Communicate classwork covered in-class and relay pertinent takeaways to parents in a timely manner
· Provide a high-quality experience for learners and families
· Arrive on-time and be dependable
Earnings
All staff are contracted employees and are paid $50/hr. Additional compensation is available for student assessments, staff meetings, professional development, parent trainings and academic planning. All contracts are one-year renewable contracts.

They will be effective at teaching the classical methods of Writing and Rhetoric, Logic, literature and Institute of Excellence in Writing - Fix It! in a small group learning environment.
This position will teach 6th- 10th graders on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-2:30. Each grade will receive 2 hours of English and History instruction weekly. (10 students max per class). The Teacher sets the learning pace for the 32-week year and differentiates lessons as needed to meet students needs.

Each grade will receive 2 hours of interactive science instruction and hands-on labs to introduce weekly concepts (9 student max per class). The Teacher sets the learning pace for the year and adjusts the lessons as needed to meet the needs of the class.
